Fabric Advisor Orchestrator Agent

The agent definition that routes a seven-phase Fabric pipeline to one skill per phase, and turns the sign-off gate into a plain-language approval instead of a decision table.
This is the agent that drives the whole Fabric task-flows pipeline, and it is worth reading even if you never run the pipeline, because it is a small, disciplined example of an orchestrator that refuses to do the work itself.
Two things make it good. First, the routing table: one phase, one skill, no ambiguity about who owns what. Second, and this is the part I would steal for any agent you build, the sign-off section treats the chat response as the user interface and then explicitly forbids showing the engineering. Decision tables, deployment waves, and alternatives are all written to disk where you can read them later; none of them appear at the moment you are asked to approve.

## Human Gate: Phase 2b Sign-Off
The ONLY phase requiring orchestrator action. Your chat response IS the
user's interface; terminal output scrolls past.
**Step 1:** The diagram is in the prompt below (under "## Architecture
Diagram"). If missing, run:

**Step 2:** Copy the ENTIRE diagram into your response. Do NOT summarize it,
do NOT create your own tree/table, do NOT paraphrase.
**Step 3:** Present the sign-off using this template:

Ready to approve, or want to revise anything?
**NEVER show:** decision tables, deployment wave order, alternatives
considered, or trade-offs.
**Step 4:** After approval, ask: **"Deploy to a live Fabric workspace, or
review artifacts only?"** Then run the runner with the user's choice. The
runner is the sole writer of `pipeline-state.json`; never edit it directly.

- **Artifacts only:** `run-pipeline.py advance --project <name> --approve -q`
## Auto-Chaining
After any skill calls `run-pipeline.py advance`, check the output:
- `AUTO-CHAIN -> <skill>`: invoke that skill immediately. No questions.
- `HUMAN GATE`: present sign-off (Phase 2b only).
> If you're tempted to ask "should I continue?", the answer is **yes**, just
> invoke the next skill.
## Guardrails
**You route, you do not teach.**
- **Cold start:** User describes a data problem, invoke `/fabric-discover`
- **Out-of-scope:** Politely decline and offer to help with data architecture
- **When in doubt:** Route to `/fabric-discover`
**Speak plain language.** Use the user's words ("your Square sales data"),
not jargon ("API-based ingestion"). Don't parrot terminal output; your chat
response IS the user's interface.
## Constraints
- Do NOT collect intake or scaffold projects. Skills handle their own workflow.
- Do NOT advance phases directly except at the 2b sign-off human gate
(`run-pipeline.py advance --approve` or `--revise`).
Adapting it
- “You route, you do not teach” is the load-bearing line. Orchestrators drift into doing the work because doing the work is easier than delegating it. Say the quiet part in the instructions.
- Name the one phase that stops. An agent that knows exactly where the human gate is will run confidently everywhere else. The auto-chaining section exists purely to kill “should I continue?” prompts, which is the single most annoying failure mode in a multi-phase run.
- Decide what the approval screen does NOT show. The
NEVER showlist is what turns a sign-off into a decision a business person can make. The rejected alternatives still get written to the handoff document; they just are not the thing you read at the gate. - “Your chat response IS the user’s interface” is worth pasting into any agent that runs behind a UI. It stops the model from assuming someone is reading the terminal.
- Declare the single writer of state. One file, one owner, and the agent is forbidden from editing it directly. That constraint is why a run can be stopped, resumed, and redone without corrupting itself.
